General

While a lot of brands will very occasionally introduce a workstation, when the brand is Korg, everyone knows that they're going to get a genuinely new and thoughtfully developed instrument. As such, this may be what's remarkable about the Korg i3. Compared to the XE20 and EK-50L from the same series and on the strength of nuance, this workstation is much more than just another digital keyboard.

Features of the Korg i3

On first look, the i3 may have the looks of a lot of large Korg workstations but here, you're getting much more for your hard-earned money. 790 sounds, 59 drum kits while, within each of these sounds, you also get GM-sounds for streamlined GM MIDI-file playback with the correct sound. There's a DIN MIDI OUT fitted to add and control a second synthesizer or keyboard as well as the (now standard) USB/MIDI port for connection to a computer so that the i3 can be used in combination with the fat software package it comes with, including a DAW.
