Korg's Pa1000 is a Professional Arranger keyboard packed full of realistic sounds and styles. Thanks to the Enhanced Definition Synthesis - eXpanded (EDS-X) sound engine and the special Defined Nuance Control, the sounds are ultra-realistic. The Pa1000 features 61 semi-weighted, velocity-sensitive keys with aftertouch. The 2x 33-watt internal sound system has separate woofers and tweeters that deliver a rich and powerful sound. Other notable features include TC Helicon's Vocal Harmonizer effects, an MP3 player/recorder and a sequencer. With plenty of on-board controls and a tiltable 7-inch touch screen, the Pa1000 is easy to use.

Top-quality sounds

This Professional Arranger keyboard offers more than 1750 top-quality sounds including grand pianos, electric pianos, drawbar organs and a collection of modern and classic keyboards. You'll also find brass instruments, strings, acoustic and electric guitars as well as so much more. There's even 600 MB of space available for you to import your own sounds from WAV, AIFF or SoundFont files. All of the sounds are fully editable with 24 oscillators per note allowing you to create something truly unique. What's more, with a polyphony of 128, you'll never miss a sound.

Comprehensive possibilities

There are more than 430 accompaniment styles on board the Pa1000 but thanks to the built-in MIDI file to Style converter you can use the style from any standard MIDI file. With the KAOSS FX you can even mix and edit styles during your performance. There are 148 different effect types that you can use to spice up your sound too. The on-board SongBook function puts a programmable and searchable library at your disposal and you can even save different settings here per song. You can plug a guitar or a microphone directly into the Pa1000 and it has built-in effects for both. Finally, the Pa1000 is equipped with USB ports that allow you to connect a computer and save all sorts of data to an external device.

Superb keyboard having had Yamahas for the last ten years I wanted a change.

The sound reproduction is excellent, it is more complicated to find out how to do stuff with the keyboard than a PSR but there is so much potential with this instrument and the idea that improvements can be made just by Korg issuing new system software encourages me that I will enjoy using it for years to come. Love the articulated screen and the output of the speakers.

The built in sounds are good vocal sounds like choir are excellent but Yamaha has the edge on some instruments like a clarinet, however this keyboard allows you to load your own instrument samples which means you can replace the default sounds.

Staande ovatie!

Dit is een fantastisch keyboard dat al mijn verwachtingen enorm overtreft. Ik had me namelijk gebaseerd op de vele youtube filmpjes die je erover vindt en was reeds onder de indruk. Nu blijkt dat dat nog maar het tipje van de ijsberg was en er nog zo veel meer kan.

Wil je een one-man-band zijn die zonder extra speakers en andere toebehoren rond trekt, dit is het ideale toestel. Je kan op voorhand vele dingen voorbereiden zodat je op je live optreden enkel nog de extra touch moet toevoegen (extra melodie, zang, gitaar, ... en dit allemaal ondersteund met effecten) terwijl je toch de controle van MIDI behoudt waardoor je invloed kan uitoefenen op je voorbereidingen om je aan te passen aan je publiek (tempo, transpositie voor de zanger, maar zelfs muten van specifieke tracks als er een live speler van die track aanwezig is).

Opname gemaakt en een fout akkoord gespeeld of je noot een beetje te laat gespeeld, je kan het gewoon editen met de easy event based editor of diepgaander met de multi track editor. Dit toestel is een ware cubase op zich.

Het scherm ziet er wat achterhaald uit vanwege de lage resolutie en de ondertussen wel heel erg retro user interface design keuze, maar die eenvoud vind je ook terug in het gebruiksgemak terwijl de functionaliteiten oneindig lijken te zijn. Je kent dat wel die uitdrukking: "Easy to play, hard to master", je geraakt met de basis al super ver en je zal nooit het einde van de mogelijkheden bereiken, je blijft ontdekken.

Ook de geluidskwaliteit is indrukwekkend. Dat uit zo'n kleine speakers zo'n volle bassrijke klank kan komen, je kan het niet geloven. Geloof me, hier kan je een klein zaaltje mee vullen. Ik heb van die Roland Cube speakers die 4 keer zo groot zijn, en die klinken als een oud radiootje in vergelijking met wat hier in zit.

Ik kan blijven schrijven, maar ik steek die tijd nu liever in mijn volgende opname. Deze keer ga ik voor iets jazzy, vorige keer was het dance en rock, nog vele stijlen te gaan dus en ik heb zin om ze allemaal uit te proberen. Aan het downloaden van extra stijlen en instrumenten ben ik zelfs nog niet geraakt... het schijnt dat die gratis zijn... ik ben benieuwd!

Conclusie: een dikke aanrader, als je een topper met speakers wilt, neem deze, heb je de speakers niet nodig, neem dan eens een kijkje bij het pa-4x model, maar de kans is groot dat je concludeert dat deze voldoende is.

Korg's Pa series of keyboards have been popular for years. The Pa700, Pa700 Oriental and the Pa1000 are the latest additions to this enormously successful lineup. The new keyboards are not only packed full of sounds and different accompaniment styles, there are extensive possibilities for creating your own sounds too.
