The Yamaha PSR-SX600 workstation keyboard provides the intermediate player with all the functionality they need to hone their skills and take things to the next level. What you get for you hard-earned cash is a machine that's packed with the kind of features you'd usually find loaded into a model at twice the price. This complete workstation offers 850 voices, 43 drum/effect kits, and 480 XG voices. Entire song arrangements can even be created using one of the 415 accompaniments.

The Yamaha PSR-SX600

The keyboard is home to what Yamaha themselves refer to as Super Articulation Voices. Using this smart addition, you can manipulate the sounds provided or make the included effects more expressive and atmospheric using the modulation wheel or footpedal. You're also given access to the Unison and Accent function for the first time. In Unison mode, you can do things like play a melody that's automatically enhanced by a harmony. Extensive equalisation options are also provided, and a microphone can be hooked up to the back panel so that full solo shows can be performed.

Rec’n’Share

Another incredibly useful function is Smart Chord. This allows you to play the keyboard with just one finger, giving you the freedom to experiment with all the other sounds on offer at the same time. You can also make use of the free Yamaha Rec'n'Share app by coupling your compatible smartphone or tablet to the workstation so you can share audio and video clips online with streamlined ease. The keyboard, meanwhile, has 61 velocity sensitive keys for full dynamic expression and the crystal clear, full-colour 480 x 272 pixel LCD screen makes navigating the menu as smooth as it gets.
