JZ Microphones developed this large-diaphragm J series condenser microphone with a unidirectional/carioid pickup pattern as a more affordable version of their Vintage 11 studio microphone. Make no mistake - the J1 is still fully hand-crafted under the watchful eye of CEO Juris Zarins. As the first in this J series, it's a stylish-looking microphone with a sober appearance and grey exterior. The 21mm active capsule is protected by a solid grill and the J1 also comes standard with a shock mount.

One-way street

If you're in the market for an affordable microphone that's suitable for recording vocals, then the J1 could be just the mic you're looking for. It's equipped with both a unidirectional as a cardioid pickup pattern, which means it only picks up audio from a source directly in front of the diaphragm. With the included shock mount, you can prevent any handling noise as well as vibrations or other external factors that may disturb your recording. What's more, the J1 features the patented Gold Drop technology, which is integrated in all JZ microphones. This technology ensures the diaphragm is able to quickly and accurately respond to changes in the dynamics of the audio source, resulting in natural-sounding recordings.

All JZ Microphones are made with class A electronics and components that are crafted and tested by hand, resulting in a pure audio signal before it even reaches your recording equipment. On top of that, electronics that are soldered by hand are resistant to overheating. At this time, JZ's Vintage series microphones do not have tubes. The internal circuitry is designed to function perfectly without them but able to emulate the characteristic sound of a tube mic. These mics don't contain any converters either, which makes them virtually noise-free.
