Remo's 18-inch Silentstroke drumhead can be placed on your drum shell like an ordinary drumhead, but it produces a reduced volume. This means that you won't disturb the neighbours or your housemates and can therefore drum whenever you like. It is also ideal for beginners and children, as these rarely have the technique to play softly.

Als je in stilte wil drummen is dit een goede oplossing voor de trommels. Werkelijk bijna geen geluid! Wat mij betreft zelfs iets teveel demping. De rebound is iets sterker dan gewone vellen. Ideaal voor rudiments in stilte oefenen. Voor het oefenen op je gehele drumset is het niet ideaal, want bekkens dempen blijft natuurlijk een lastig verhaal. Daar heb ik nog nooit een realistische oplossing voor gevonden. Je krijgt op een bekken ofwel een plok-plok geluid met een dempmat, of het is ongedempt en krankzinnig hard t.o.v. de toms. Brushes blijven makkelijk hangen in de gaasvellen. Dus de overgebleven oplossingen zijn Whisperrods van Qsticks of elektrische bekkens.

Bestonden dit soort vellen maar 20 jaar eerder! Had me heel wat gedoe met de buren gescheeld...Deze vellen klinken heel zacht en je kunt zo zonder problemen tot diep in de nacht doorspelen! Ik gebruik ze i.c.m. de low volume bekkens van Zildjian. Ze 'stuiteren' wel behoorlijk maar n.v.v.t. neemt dat wel wat af. Een betere oplossing voor stil oefenen is er wat mij betreft niet. Geen enkel alternatief speelt zo goed en klinkt ook nog eens heel behoorlijk. En voor de prijs hoef je het niet te laten! Aanrader!
