IGS Audio Double Triode Limiter tube pre-amplifier for microphones

General

The IGS Audio Double Triode Limiter, or DTL, is a real workhorse in the studio. Basically, it is a tube preamp designed for use in several situations and to be used with any type of microphone. From dynamic microphones on drums, to the most fragile band mics. Thanks to its optical limiting function, it prevents unsightly digital clipping of your interface and can also be used as an analogue compressor. The analogue tube technology delivers a warm sound and, under the right settings, even a nice overdrive. As a result, it also finds wide application in recording synthesizers or drum computers, for example, or in 're-amping' previously recorded tracks.

Flexible inputs and versatile application

The DTL has a balanced input with Carnhill transformer, but it also features a Hi-Z input for high-impedance devices such as electric guitars and basses. This allows these instruments to be connected directly to the preamp. Phantom power is of course not missing either, so condenser microphones or other devices requiring +48 volts can be connected without any problem. A 20 dB pad switch makes it possible to lower the input level for devices with a high output level.
