The Arturia Keylab 49 MKII MIDI/USB keyboard is a prime example of durability and comprehensive, versatile use for live performances and in the studio. As well as sixteen pads, there are nine faders, nine encoders, transport buttons and more at your disposal. It offers DIN MIDI, USB MIDI, and CV connectors so you can even connect your CV-based synthesizers (or Eurorack modules)!

Geweldig toestel. Het keybed voelt heel aangenaam en responsief aan.

Het grootste voordel is de naadloze integratie met Ableton Live (of een andere DAW) en het geweldig software pakket Analog Lab.

Door deze integraties raak ik zelden mijn keys nog aan en heb meer het gevoel dat ik een instrument aan het bespelen ben ipv blokjes tekenen.

Dit is een prima control keyboard voor diverse DAW's en voor Arturia producten zoals Pigments en Analog Lab. Alles zit bij de mk2 op een logische plek (beter dan de Keylab 49). Ik heb echter een opmerking: dit keyboard heb ik gekocht in een bundle met Propellerhead Reason 10 (een prima DAW!) maar de integratie van die twee is nog niet gerealiseerd. Met Ableton Live Lite werkt de DAW mode prima, maar voor Reason nog niet. Daarom heb ik een workaround gemaakt zodat de controls en transportknoppen ook met Reason werken. Hier staat hoe:
- eventueel het keyboard een factory reset geven (oct+ en oct- indrukken en het keyboard inschakelen);
- Zet de DAW op MCU, klik daarna User, en zet bank 1 aan;
- In Reason, klik Options en daarna Remote Override Edit Mode;
- Dubbelklik in Reason op de control of knop waaraan een Keylab control moet worden toegekend;
boven de control draait nu een bliksemschicht;
- Op de Keylab, verschuif, draai of klik de control die moet worden toegekend. De bliksemschicht wordt nu
rood; herhaal dit voor alle toe te kennen controls;
- Bij bijvoorbeeld de Stop toets staat nu "Note A5" maar de keyboard note werkt nog steeds als note en
niet als stoptoets, de stoptoets werkt nu wel als stoptoets;
- Ga tenslotte uit Remote Override Edit Mode en sla de song op.
- Ga naar Anaog Lab mode of User mode (bank 1), maar niet naar DAW mode.
Je kunt deze settings alleen per song opslaan en niet in een apart systeembestandje, maar wel kun je ze van een song naar een andere song kopieren. B.t.w., de transporttoetsen lichten niet op zoals in DAW mode Live.
De op de website aangeboden CODEC is bedoeld voor de versies 49 en 61, maar niet voor mk2.
