It has been quite a few years since the KeyStep 37 came out, now there is finally the Arturia KeyStep 37 MK2. This USB/MIDI keyboard has had a modern polish, such as the USB-C connector. What is especially noteworthy is that the rear connectors are now on the other side of the rear panel, under the lower half of the keyboard in other words. The dip switches are no longer there, but an extra CV mod output has been added. While the old KeyStep still had a simple segment display, the MK2 has a graphic OLED display.

Still, this updated KeyStep is a great idea machine, because of its comprehensive sequencer. A polyphonic step sequencer to be precise. So even if you drive a DAW (with some virtual instruments in it) you can still use the KeyStep itself to fiddle with sequences, and that's quite interesting. The creative process is again a bit more under your fingertips instead of in your DAW. Four encoders can be set for your MIDI-CCs, CV/gate, and of course the arpeggiator/sequencer. Talking about DAW: it's included, as well as over 500 sounds in Analog Lab Intro. So, out-of-the-box you can get started right away with this MIDI keyboard.
