General
Following in the footsteps of the well-known MPC Touch, Akai presents the MPC Live. This fully-independently functioning music production console has a beautiful 7-inch multi-touch display. It gives you ultimate control for making beats and arrangements thanks to controls that include 16 velocity-sensitive RGB pads. The best thing about the MPC Live is that it's ideal for mobile productions because you don't need a PC to operate it, and it's powered by a rechargeable battery. Additionally, you can run the software as a plug-in in your DAW on both Mac and Windows systems.
MPC Live: Powerful hardware
The driving force of the MPC Live is a multi-core processor that is capable of distributing processes over various processing cores at a staggering rate. It also features 2 GB of internal (RAM) memory, making it the most powerful MPC system to date. Functions such as real-time, time-stretching, and pinching and grabbing samples are just the start of what you can do via the touch screen. You can also program the step sequencer, record, edit MIDI and audio data, and add effects.
I/O and integrated software
With the MPC Live, seamless integration for live and studio applications is easy. It features a number of high-grade connection options that include two MIDI inputs and outputs on the rear panel for things like synths, drum machines and sound modules. It also has two RCA inputs and a balanced jack connector. For connecting to external devices, this console is equipped with six jack balanced outputs. Lastly, the award-winning MPC Software (2.0) has been integrated into the MPC Live for carefree functionality in standalone mode.

De uitbreidingsmogelijkheden zijn ook niet minimaal. De MPC beschikt over twee snelle USB3 poorten een SD-slot en een ingebouwde SATA connector, waar je een normale HDD aan kan hangen (of een SSD, dan wordt het pas echt interessant).
Let er wel op dat dit apparaat een leercurve heeft en je de Akai workflow even onder de knie moet krijgen. Zelfs een maand later ontdek in nog nieuwe functies en mogelijkheden. De software is nog in verdere ontwikkeling de huidige 2.6 versie is echter erg stabiel en werkt goed. Ik ben benieuwd wat Akai in de toekomst gaat doen om de MPC Live verder te ontwikkelen.
De term "Live" in de naam kan een klein beetje misleidend zijn. Ja hij is te bespelen mits je de nodige voorbereiding hebt getroffen (inladen van samples, creëren van paterns etc.). Al met al is het een prachtig apparaat die erg met z'n tijd is meegegaan (zo kun je bijv. ook VST plug-ins inladen).

avoir un mini studio que tu peux trimbaler partout c'est le pied .
Dessus des effect . ceux fourni avec sont bien mais rien d'extraordinaire . de nos jours avec tous les plugin' qui ce fait sur le marcher ... ils auraient pu faire un truque de la mort ....
chouette machine . pas dessus de notre achat . mais pour être mieux dans les effect .

Wat een geweldige alleskunner is het.
Ik "ben van de hardware " en redelijk digibeet.
Manual lezen doe ik zelden.
De eerste week was het aanrommelen om de mpc wat te leren kennen.
Op youtube staan heel veel video's met uitleg, zeer nuttig, vooral de uitleg van "dawless jammin" is nuttig.
Nu naar twee weken uitproberen lukt het mij goed om: een drum samen te stellen, samples te maken en te bewerken, sequences toevoegen, ik gebruik de kleurenfuncties van de pads, erg handig.
Ook gebruik ik alle drie stereo uitgangen zodat ik enkele kanalen kan mixen met effecten (zoals een snare of voice met extra delay).
De volgende stap voor mij is om mijn moog aan te sluiten zodat de sequence van de mpc naar mijn moog gaat.
Nooit geweten dat ik zoveel plezier met de mpc zou gaan krijgen, terwijl de eerste week best moeizaam was(omdat ik amper manuals lees).
Ik kan de mpc aanbevelen, vooral omdat hij standalone is, geen gedoe met computers etc.
Zonder adapter uren spelplezier.

Ook heeft de Live een prettige workflow die zelfs voor iemand die nog nooit een MPC heeft gehad binnen no-time door heeft. Echt een aanrader!
Ik gebruik de Live nu een maandje en eenmaal gewend heb je binnen enkele minuten al resultaat. De mogelijkheden zijn oprecht eindeloos.
