The Electro Harmonix Ravish Sitar is a high-grade sitar emulation pedal, suitable for electric guitar and bass guitar, but also for instruments such as the violin. Basically, the Ravish Sitar takes an incoming signal and makes it sound like a sitar. The characteristic sound of a sitar's sympathetic strings, which resonate along, are automatically and quite dynamically added to your playing. The options of this unique pedal are practically endless!

The resonating Ravish Sitar

The sympathetic strings of a sitar are not played, but resonate along with the strings that are being plucked. Usually they are tuned in a certain key, so they match the sound of music you're playing. The EHX Ravish Sitar allows you to easily select a key by playing a note. Subsequently, you can choose a major, minor, exotic or sharp scale, or even determine your own series of tones.

Inputs and outputs

The Ravish Sitar is equipped with various inputs and outputs. This allows you to bend the pitch of your lead tone by means of an optional expression pedal. You can also use a volume pedal to alter the volume of the sympathetic string drones while you're playing. It's possible to send a master output signal to the amplifier via the main out, but you can also transmit the sympathetic string sounds separately via the sympathetic output of the pedal. Finally, the EHX Ravish Sitar allows you to create up to ten presets.
