As a drummer, do you like experimental and innovative sounds? Then this Walrus Audio DFX-1 multi-effect percussion processor is exactly what you are looking for! This FX processor allows drummers to add effects to their playing at a specific tempo. Think of a tap-delay on your snare drum for example, a thick reverb on your kick drum or just some saturation in your overheads for a warm, almost bitcrushed sound. The DFX-1 was designed in collaboration with legendary producer and drummer Aaron Sterling. (John Mayer, Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter and more)

Walrus Audio DFX-1 multi-effect for drummers

The DFX-1 module has 48v phantom power for microphones that need it, features an FX loop and has three buttons that can be played with a drumstick (like an SPD): for tap tempo, an FX bypass and a preset selection. The aforementioned FX loop has an out, send and return, allowing you to expand your DFX-1 with other multi-effects or effects pedals. With the built-in noise gate and adjustable threshold, you decide how much sound from your drums is affected by the effects.

DFX-1 reverb, delay and compression

The various effects on the DFX-1 are high-quality and based on state-of-the-art equipment. For instance, the compression VCA is based on the API 2500 and the FET on the 1176 FET compressor for a fast attack and typical 'dirty' sound - great on snare drums! The delay features a tap function to set the right BPM and can be switched between a vintage and modern sound. With the reverb, you can choose between a spring or plate reverb where you can opt for a more reflective sound or a warm, smooth diffusion.
