Broadcast microphones are also called radio microphones. Compared to vocal microphones, broadcast microphones shape a fuller, calmer sound, which they can get away with since radio presenters don't exactly need to compete with the sound of a band.

While they're not as hyper-detailed as condenser microphones, dynamic mikes register less unwanted noise, making them better for spaces that don’t have any acoustic treatment.
