General
The SE Electronics Dynacaster is a superb microphone for any modern broadcast studio. The built-in 'dynamite' preamp packs plenty of headroom, all you have to do first is activate the phantom power supply of your mixer or audio interface before you flip the Dynamite switch of the Dynacaster, which can also be used in passive mode to capture louder things such as guitar amps and toms. Meanwhile, the tone controls ensure pro-grade sound before the take is even finished and allow you to cut and boost the bass depending on the intensity of the vocals. The high frequencies on the other hand can be boosted in two steps - a welcome feature that can help to prevent flat, dull vocals when you're recording in a heavily sound-damped room.
