Are you saving up for a vintage RCA ribbon microphone? Then check out the Golden Age Audio R1 MK2. Not only is its appearance strongly reminiscent of microphones from the 1940s but also its warm sound. For instruments with a bright sound like electric guitar and horns, the R1 mkII is a much better choice than, say, a condenser microphone. This is because the Golden Age Audio R1 sounds very mild, capturing these instruments in a nicely balanced way. The microphone is suspended in a bracket where the tripod mount is also immediately located. Both elegant and practical.
