With the Streamliner series, Gretsch is targeting modern guitar players who want to enjoy 'That Great Gretsch Sound'. As such, its look and sound are still in that traditional Gretsch style, while the neck has been modernised. The Streamliner series consists of various models, among which a few hollow-body guitars, including the G2420 Streamliner in a gorgeous Aged Brooklyn Burst finish. Together with the oversized pearloid block inlays and the details such as the golden logo on the pickguard, this guitar gives you exactly the luxury feel that a Gretsch is supposed to give you. For secret weapons, the G2420 has two Gretsch Broad'Tron humbuckers to give it powerful lows, growling mids and crystal-clear trebles.
Gretsch G2420 Streamliner: construction
The body of the Gretsch G2420 Streamliner is made entirely of laminated maple, which is known to provide a gorgeous bright core sound. To prevent feedback, the top is reinforced with parallel bracing. The neck, meanwhile, is made of nato wood, which is not unlike mahogany in its hardness and sound. Furthermore, the neck has a modern and comfortable thin U profile, and the rosewood fretboard has also been modernised, with its 12" radius and 22 medium jumbo frets. For optimal intonation, the Gretsch Streamliner G2420 features a fixed bridge with a rosewood base. All these elements combine to create an instrument with a classic, timeless look, as well as modern playing comfort. Finally, two feisty Broad'Tron humbuckers amplify the sound, and the gorgeous Aged Brooklyn Burst finish completes the picture.
Gretsch Streamliners: affordable, timeless, modern
If you don't want to spend a fortune on a Gretsch guitar, the Electromatic series used to be your only option. With its excellent price-to-quality ratio, that series brought 'That Great Gretsch Sound' within virtually every guitarist's reach. Enter: the Gretsch Streamliner guitars. These are also very reasonably-priced models, but they set themselves apart by incorporating clever modern design twists. While the classic look and sound of the instruments stay intact, these Streamliners are a little easier to play than classic Gretsches. Even some popular after-market upgrades have been incorporated into their design, such as the G2420's fixed bridge.

En plus, la guitare est jolie de bonne finition et elle m'a été livrée bien réglée, et rapidement. Bien sûr, elle correspond à un type de jeu qui n'est pas celui de la Strato ou de la LP -autre genre de musique; malgré son prix raisonnable, c'est bien une GRESTCH.

On the one hand you have the purists who think the specifications from the 1950s and 1960s - the Gretsch heydays - are beyond dispute. On the other hand, you have the more practically minded guitarists who like to make modifications to their instruments.
