Besides offering excellent electric guitars, Ibanez also knows a thing or two about hollow-bodies with a remarkable price-to-quality ratio. Take the Artcore Vintage series, for instance, which offers great value for money, as well as a gorgeous artificially aged look. The AMW10A in Tobacco Low Burst has a fantastic retro sound to match its weathered and worn look. With the Classic Elite humbuckers, this Ibanez offers a broad, classic sound with prominent bass and bright trebles.
AMV10A: wood types and hardware
As such, the Artcore is excellently suited to various genres, like jazz, blues, soul and rock music. This vintage-style guitar offers a well-defined acoustic base sound: focused, with a nicely rounded bright touch to it, and creamy sustain in the lower frequencies. That sound is a direct result of the tried-and-tested combination of a maple body, a mahogany neck and a rosewood fretboard. The ART-1 bridge and Quik Change III tailpiece also have a hand in creating this sound, and they help make string changes much easier and improve the guitar's tuning stability.
