NAMM 2016: Ibanez Shows Brand New Acoustics and Hollow-Body Guitars
Ibanez unveiled their new steel-string acoustics at NAMM 2016, as well as some great new semi-acoustic guitars. What to think of new, vintage-style hollow-bodies, and acoustic guitar with fanned frets, and even a piccolo guitar.
Brand new worn-in classics
Not every string picker can afford an authentic vintage semi-acoustic guitar. That's why Ibanez introduced new guitars in their Artstar and Artcore series, that have been given a Vintage label. The ASV100FMD and AMV100FMD are available in a heavily reliced Low Gloss finish, while the sharply priced AMV10A and ASV10A are available in different tasteful satin finishes.
Easy on the ears and the eyes
Ibanez also showed off some eye-catching new electric-acoustic guitars. Stand-outs are the AELFF10-NTwith its fanned frets, and the AEW51 Natural High Gloss with its back that uses three different wood types. Furthermore, if you're looking for something a little more compact, there's the AW51MINIGB in a matte natural finish. If you'd prefer something even smaller, with a higher standard tuning, then the EWP14 OPN piccolo guitar might be an instrument worth looking at.
