General

Having two amplifiers on stage not only looks bad-ass, it's also a great way to keep your lead and rhythm sounds separate. To do this, you can constantly switch cables back and forth, or you can use a top-notch ABY splitter and combiner pedal like The Amp Detonator by Orange. Let's look at the benefits. First of all, size: it has the same dimensions as any other effects pedal. Secondly, besides splitting up your signal, it enables you to listen to both amps at once, and thirdly, it's equipped with a phase button.

Free from interference

While small, passive splitters often have isolation problems, active pedals tend to be cumbersome and expensive. The Amp Detonator is the happy medium! According to Orange, it's the smallest active, fully-functioning buffered ABY pedal on the market. This is partially due to its two buffered outputs, of which one has been given an isolated transformer so your signal maintains the same volume, no matter how long your cable is. No need to worry when you activate the Both button - you won't get that unwanted hum that's usually caused by earthing.

Noiseless switching

At a glance, you can see which amplifier you've selected based on a 3-colour LED indicator. If you've chosen both, and you experience dips in the sound, the handy phase button offers the solution. When you switch from one amp to another, you won't be able to tell, as it happens completely noiselessly, which is great for you, your sound guy and your audience! You can power the pedal using a 9-volt battery or a 9 or 12-volt adapter. The latter provides extra headroom.

Bax Music Warranty This product comes with a 3-year warranty.
