The sE7 small diaphragm, made by SE Electronics, may be a household name by now. Often used in studio and live settings. And yet now there is something new again: the SE Electronics sE7SF sideFire, where two diaphragms face to the side. Very useful in situations that are a bit tight in terms of space. Recommended applications are acoustic guitar, choir, orchestra, strings, piano, woodwinds, drums, percussion, cymbals and overhead. The sound is undeniably good, with low-noise components, and a natural timbre from low to high. You don't even come across this model very often, chances are you'll need exactly this microphone when space is at a premium.
