Evans' Strata 1000 Concert bass drumhead is a coated 7.5 mil single-ply drumhead that is very reminiscent of a calfskin drumhead in sound and feel. This skin produces a rich and warm sound with plenty of sustain. This sustain is balanced, so it is not too emphatic. In addition, the mid-range overtones in particular are audible in the sustain. This enhances the balance of the sustain.
