If you're looking for a complete sound system that is suited for mobile DJs, bands and other live applications and that provides enough power to fill a room of up to 250 people with sound, then you're in the right place with this Electro Voice ELX 15A. This active set with a combined power of 3,400 watts is robust, yet quite lightweight. It is also very easy to set up, and you can have it ready in 10 minutes, making it excellent for bands. This set consists of two ELX 115P full-range cabinets, two ELX 118P subwoofers and two ASP 1 distance rods.
ELX 115P
The Electro Voice ELX 115P is an active full-range speaker with a 15-inch woofer. It produces a fantastically musical sound with a full, tight bass that never gets muddy. Additionally, the compression driver provides plenty of clarity and detail. This 15-inch model delivers a stronger, more solid sound than the 12-inch version, making it perfect for DJs. Furthermore, this speaker features a wooden cabinet that gives it a warmer, more balanced sound than that of speakers made from synthetic material. Even though it's made of wood, the 115P has been kept lightweight and is thus easy to handle, even if you have to set up alone. ELX 118P

Excellent standard of speakers...was a bit worried when I purchased them that due to the wooden casing that they would be heavy but actually they are not that bad at all with the bonus of a handle on each side. Quality of sound is very good it's crisp clear and precise with added depth. You can also pair these up with subs and there is a switch on the back which allows you to balance the sound out with subs. The only thing against them is that in certain venues they can rumble on the base even with the base turned off on the desk and there is no tone control on the actual speaker if these speakers had the added bonus of tone control built in they would be immense that said they are extremely good speakers...and will blow the back walls out of any decent sized venue :)

Zie veel negatieve reacties, maar inmiddels is dit wel een EV product en EV staat ook op de draaiknop. Hij past gewoon goed in een elx118(p) en de de ekx15P top blijft mooi recht staan en hangt niet naar een kant (vind ik wel belangrijk).

Een langere periode draaide ik enkel met de ELX-115P maar mis het diepe laag. Dus eerst 1 sub gekocht. Dat was net het beetje extra, maar 1 sub kan de elx-115p niet bijbenen. Vrij snel gingen ze in de limit, daar houd ik niet van dus dan draai je automatisch iets zachter. Ook niet erg als je geen tinitus wil natuurlijk, maar vaak op feesten willen ze het harder en harder. Dus uiteindelijk een 2de sub erbij gekocht.
Dat is zeker een stuk beter, echter de toppen kunnen meer hebben dan de subs kunnen bijdragen.
Voor mijn gevoel is de 700watt sub aan de lichte kant.
Voor een knal feest a 150 man kom je niet te kort met de subs, zowel binnen als in de open lucht geven ze een helder en strak geluid.
Dat is zeker een stuk beter, echter de toppen kunnen meer hebben dan de subs kunnen bijdragen.
Voor mijn gevoel is de 700watt sub aan de lichte kant.

Een aantal jaren mogen draaien met deze speakers meestal voor bruiloften en verjaardagsfeesten tot ongeveer 100 man. Ik mis echter de punch in de speakers, daarom heb ik ze later aangevuld met 2x elx118p subs. Dat gaf zeker meer punch, zelfs voor buiten op een klein koningsdag evenement konden ze prima mee draaien. De toppen zijn betrouwbaar, ze hebben mij nooit in de steek gelaten. Ze zijn goed draagbaar, wel zou ik er zwaardere statieven onder zetten zoals de K&M, ik zelf had de innox modellen zoals die ook in de combo deal gezet worden, maar als het kan koop dan zwaardere.
Geluid is helder en laat zich zeker niet snel oversturen. Ik heb ze zelf nooit in de piek gehad.

Onlangs mijn geluidset uitgebreid met deze subwoofers. Ik had al de elx 115 (passieve speakers) maar miste vooral het laag. Deze speakers hebben mijn verwachtingen overtroffen en aan mijn wensen voldaan. Nu een mooi vol en kwalitatief en compleet geluid. Ik kan iedere dj deze set aanbevelen.

NIET KOPEN!!
Rampzalig product. past gewoon niet goed op de ev subs. Onbegrijpelijk dat een bax dit durft te verkopen.
Dit is ook geen origineel ev product. Materiaal is te dun en de knevel is van zeer goedkoop plastic.
Wat betreft speaker statieven en tussen palen is er maar 1 merk: K&M

Mijn eerste indruk van deze luidspreker is dat hij zeer krachtig en veelzijdig is. In de toekomst ga ik er misschien nog subwoofers bij plaatsen, maar ook deze luidspreker kan de lage tonen zeer zuiver weergeven. Hoewel het een zeer krachtige speaker is, is hij nog steeds relatief licht. Je kan hem op je eentje op een statief zetten. Hij ziet er zeer modern en kwalitatief uit. De houten afwerking voelt stevig aan, maar voor de zekerheid zou ik hem toch in een stevige hoes steken bij het transporten om beschadigingen aan het hout te vermijden. Over het algemeen ben ik er zeer tevreden van. Helder geluid over het gehele bereik en gemaakt uit kwalitatieve materialen.

Mijn eerste indruk van de EV ELX115P was, uitstekend, een krachtige, veelzijdige fullrange luidspreker, met de mogelijkheid om in de toekomst subs toe te voegen om de onderkant echt te verbeteren. Een luidspreker die, hoewel hij wordt geleverd met een krachtige 1000W versterking, ik hem nog steeds op zijn standaard kon tillen zonder mijn rug te breken! De 15 inch geeft je net iets meer werk om mee te werken als je de speaker gebruikt als een full-rage-cabine. De 12 inch versie is echter ook erg goed! Je krijgt bijvoorbeeld nog steeds de uitstekende geluidskwaliteit van de 200's, maar het ziet er gewoon moderner uit en zou net zo comfortabel kunnen zitten in een conferentie als in een folk- of rockconcert. De eenheden zijn gelaagd, daarom zou ik gewatteerde koffers aanbevelen! gewoon om ze er goed uit te laten zien. Samenvattend, uitstekende luidsprekers, uitstekende geluidskwaliteit, geweldige vorm, veelzijdigheid van optionele ingangen en versterkingscontrole, veel vermogen, redelijk licht voor zijn formaat.

Ik was opzoek achter een mooie, goede en actieve subwoofer.
Hiervoor heb ik lang alles vergeleken en gedaan.
Tijdens het zoeken kwam ik deze Electro-Voice ELX-118P actieve subwoofer tegen, het sprong direct in mijn oog omwille van zijn toch wel dure prijs maar eens gekeken aan de eigenschappen, leek het wel een goed koopje te zijn.
positieve punten:
+ een zeer goede, diepe bass
+ perfecte afwerking
+ niet al te zwaar om te tillen
negatieve punten:
- Naar mijn mening is een 220v aansluiting wat irritanter dan een Powercon aansluiting.
Verder heb ik geen negatieve punten over deze subwoofer.
Het is zeker een aanrader voor de DJ met een groot budget.
Alleen omwille van de prijs wou ik deze niet kopen.
