General
Tonally, a small splash is an interesting cymbal to mount in your drum kit. After all, its small, bright and washy tone stands out far above the sound of your drum kit. Swiss Paiste has added an excellent splash to its special Modern Essentials series with the Formula 602 Modern Essentials 8-inch Splash. You can count on a lively sound with low to medium loud volume and a relatively short sustain.
Modern Essentials
Paiste and Vinnie Colaiuta designed this series of cymbals together. For you, this means playing with cymbals that carry the endorsement of one of the world's most experienced drummers. Vinnie has been playing with THE great artists for decades, to name a few: Megadeth, Joe Cocker, Paul Anka, Backstreet Boys and Anastacia. If anyone is capable of creatively supporting the design of the ideal cymbals, it is Vinnie. Besides splash cymbals, crash, china, ride and hihats are also part of the Modern Essentials series. They are extremely versatile, whether you play pop, rock, blues or country, live or in the studio.
