Most studio monitors are equipped with a woofer and a tweeter - a tried and tested recipe. More high-end models, however, often feature an MTM-style design, so two woofers combined with a tweeter. This configuration not only shares the workload, but ensures a tighter response across the board. Equipped with two 5-inch woofers and a tweeter, the IK Multimedia iLoud Precision MTM active studio monitor harnesses the power of an MTM design yet comes at the price of a more traditional model.

The IK Multimedia iLoud Precision MTM: Built-In Calibration

The trend where studio monitors come outfitted with on-board calibration tech continues here. In fact, the iLoud Precision 5 offers built-in ARC calibration, supports the X-MONITOR control software and includes a MEMS measurement microphone so you can ensure fully neutral sound no matter the room it's set up in. Loaded with two 5-inch woofers, IK Multimedia's latest studio monitor can dive as low as 45 Hertz (or 37Hz even if you're willing to accept a -4dB roll-off), giving you the specs needed to mix tracks in minute detail.
