The Yamaha MODX Series synths released a few years back were perfect for keyboard players who wanted heavy-weight sound without the heavy weight. Now, Yamaha go one step further with the launch of the MODX+ workstations. Enter the Yamaha MODX 6+.
The Yamaha MODX 6+
Since the MODX 6+ is a synthesizer and workstation in one, it comes with the tools needed to produce music from scratch. Weighing less than 7 kilos, this more-than-manageable synth has a 128-voice polyphony whether you're dialling in the 8-operator FM engine to create multi-layer sounds or controlling the sample player. And, in addition to a complete on-board effects section, the MODX 6+ features a built-in 16-step sequencer for building classic pop tunes and sets you up with 1.75GBs of flash memory for sample storage.

As it's technically a 256-voice synthesizer, the Yamaha MODX 6+ is fully prepped for the stage, serving up pianos, strings, organs, brass and more - all in the highest possible quality. Outfitted with an ever-useful audio interface, it's a welcome addition to any band due its versatility, including solo performers thanks to the option to plug in a dynamic microphone. Set it up in the studio and weave extremely detailed sounds using the intuitive touch-screen display and the Super Knob to control the Motion-Sequencer or the Envelope-Follower with the help of the Motion Control-engine.
