General
Learning a string instrument often looks like months of practice before anything recognisable comes out of it. A ukulele works differently: it is small, handy and strung with four nylon strings, which makes it one of the friendliest instruments to start on. So why not go a size up straight away? The CUC104 from Cascha is a concert ukulele, which makes it a little larger than the familiar soprano size, with a scale length of 38 cm and a total length of 61 cm. Even at that size it stays compact enough to pick up from the sofa on a whim, and it has enough to offer advanced players too.
Wood, strings and what comes with it
The top, sides, back and neck are made of linden wood, finished in matt so the grain still shows through the green colour. The fretboard and bridge are made of WPC, while the nut is white synthetic material and measures 3.5 cm across. On the headstock you will find precise guitar-style tuning machines, and together with the high-quality Aquila nylon strings they hold the instrument in standard G-C-E-A tuning, which saves you a lot of retuning between songs. Three plectrums are already in the box, and the padded carrying bag is there for the days you play your ukulele somewhere other than at home.
