General
Most string instruments ask for months of practice before anything recognisable comes out of them. A ukulele is the exception: it is small, handy, and with four nylon strings it is one of the friendliest instruments to start on. The CUC105 from Cascha is a concert ukulele, a size up from the familiar soprano, with a scale length of 38 cm and a total length of 61 cm. Even with that extra size, it stays compact enough to grab off the sofa whenever you fancy a few chords, and it holds its own in the hands of advanced players too.
Woods, strings and what comes in the box
The top, sides, back and neck are all made of linden wood, and the matte finish keeps the grain visible under the yellow colour. Fretboard and bridge are WPC, while the nut is white synthetic material and measures 3.5 cm across. On the headstock sit precise guitar-style tuners, and together with the high-quality Aquila nylon strings they hold the standard G-C-E-A tuning, which saves you a lot of retuning between songs. Three plectrums are already in the box, and the padded gig bag is there for the times you play somewhere other than at home.
