General
As a musician, you like to work with a pure sound. However, in practice it can be disappointing, which is why you need special tools. Take, for instance, the sound of a bass guitar or any other instrument where there is a high impedance, the API 205L is the solution. We are talking about an active DI-box, or direct injection, which allows you to inject the signal directly into your mixer with the result that it is a low-impedance XLR signal. So no signal loss. The API 205L is equipped with a gain knob to normalise the sound to your own taste and this can be up to +4 dBu. A Tone knob allows you to make the sound thicker or thinner and if brightness is required, you can do so using the Bright control. Separate application of EQ is therefore often no longer necessary. With its size, this DI is suitable for an API L200 rack and can of course be expanded with other API 200 modules as desired.
