General
Electro Voice has designed this ZLX-15P active speaker with a clear vision in mind. It had to be lightweight, it had to deliver a lot of power for use on stage, and it had to have better sound quality than the majority of other speakers in its class. They have succeeded in their quest, and the result is this ZLX-15P, equipped with a 15-inch woofer that, together with the 1.5-inch compression driver, is driven by a 1,000W digital amplifier. The built-in signal processor can be controlled with a single press of a button and makes it possible for you to fine tune your speaker in an organised fashion.
Born for the stage
Artists, musicians, DJs and all kinds of other entertainers are going to want to get their hands on this active speaker. And once they have, they'll find that it's easy to lift too, as this ZLX-15P weighs a mere 17 kilograms. Moreover, connecting the speaker is a cinch. At the rear of the speaker you'll find two combined microphone/line inputs, each with their own gain control, a mini jack input for your MP3 player, and an XLR output for daisy chaining your combined signal to a second active speaker.
QuickSmart DSP 1-button control
A number of adjustments can easily be made in the DSP section, depending on your goals and purposes for the ZLX-15P. With the simple press of a button, you can make adjustments for the musical style (background music, DJ use, vocals, live music), the position of the speaker (stand or distance rod, monitor, mounted) and whether it's being used with or without a subwoofer. An LCD screen is available for viewing the settings, and is visible even on dark stages.

Bought 2 of these and they are really good speakers. They get very loud and have a solid amount of bass. The dsp also works a treat and was one of the main reason I went with this speaker. The housing of the speakers look very professional compared to other speakers of a similar price. The build quality so far seems very good, it is made of plastic but that is expected of this price. Only negative thing is that when using the built in preset EQ, the highs sound a bit harsh but this can be adjusted. Another thing to note is that there is no fan but instead ventilation ports at the top and bottom of the amplifier section at the back of the unit. This shouldn't be a problem for regular use but during very hot weather it could be a problem. Also one of the speakers did arrive faulty, though Bax Music exchanged this quickly with a new one.
These are however a brilliant pair of speakers and I would recommend them to anyone. Electro Voice have being making speakers for over 50 years and I can see why they are still in the business

This piece of equipment is top notch. I bought 2 of these but I have reasons to believe that bax gave me one brand new and the other must have been used already! The packaging of the 2 speakers are completly different- and the box of the other one is heavily damaged. It's a mixed review. Another thing- I fired them up, same settings and one started clipping and the other is not! For the price I paid I could only hope for a brand new gear.

Ik was op zoek naar een vervanger voor mijn ouder wordende JB System LS en na lang onderzoek koos ik voor de EV ZLX 15P.
Doel:
Voornamelijk in de feestkelder met 50m² voor DJ muziek en live muziek.
Af en toe worden gebruikt voor de geluidsversterking met livemuziek van ongeveer 100 mensen bij familie-evenementen op een boerderij.
Zeer gebalanceerd in geluid en toch krachtig, geen vergelijking met oudere speakers.
Bij 15 "is er geen subwoofer nodig in binnenruimtes tot 100 personen, de bas komt krachtig en helder over.
De middentonen klinken clean en warm.
De hoogtes zijn heel duidelijk zonder scherp te zijn.
Opsommend
+ Zien er goed uit
+ Goede Prijs / prestatie verhouding
+ Geluidskwaliteit
+ Instelmogelijkheden
+ Gewicht (niet te zwaar)
+ Setup-opties voor uitbreiding van de subwoofer

Ik ben zeer tevreden met de speaker. Ik heb twee ZLX-15P speakers gekocht om in te zetten bij mijn drive-inshow als DJ. Het geluid is goed. De boxen kunnen heel erg hard, ik kan mij niet voorstellen dat ik ze ooit zal gebruiken in het volledige volume, meestal zit ik op de helft van het vermogen. De minimum frequentie van 40 HZ is zeer netjes, dit betekent dat de laagste bass goed te horen is. Ik raad ze niet aan als monitorspeakers, aangezien de boxen erg groot zijn. Het gewicht van de speakers is prima, het lukt mij net om de speakers op de statieven te tillen, dus ik ben blij.

Om te beginnen is dit echt een beest als het aankomt op decibel. Zelf gebruik ik de speaker in mijn studio/hobbykamer waar hij de hele tijd op 20 % volume. Ik vindt de kwaliteit ook goed, misschien even te melden dat ik standaard met een koptelefoon werk. De prijs voor de speaker is ook rendabel, voor 375 euro vindt ik deze speaker een koopje voor alles wat ie kan. Ook is de speaker lekker licht en kan je 'm dus makkelijk vervoeren, zo heb ik de speaker 1 keer voor een feestje gebruikt en daar werkte hij ook naar behoren. Ik had persoonlijk alleen liever in plaats van de xlr poorten 2 6.35mm jacks gehad maar met een adapter verloopt alles ook prima. Ik vindt dit persoonlijk een hele fijne, lichte speaker.

Ik gebruik deze speaker bij veel optredens omdat deze speakers zo'n goede geluidskwaliteit heeft. Ik heb deze speaker een tijdje geleden gekocht voor mij en een vriend en ik heb er geen moment spijt van gehad. De speaker is volgens mij een van de beste uit zijn prijsklasse. Ook heeft deze speaker 1000 watt meer vermogen dan andere speakers uit deze prijsklasse. Het enige minpuntje dat ik kon vinden is dat je voor diepe en heldere basgeluiden een subwoofer nodig hebt, maar uiteindelijk is dat niet zo'n groot probleem. Ik raad deze speaker aan aan iedereen die het beste geluid wilt maar toch een budget heeft.

Uiterst tevreden met deze units. Heb ze nu 8 maanden, gebruik ze voornamelijk voor in de keet maar in de toekomst waarschijnlijk voor kleinere optredens. Ze kunnen zeker genoeg volume leveren voor feesten van +/- 100 man. Vervorming van het geluid met deze speakers heb je niet! Klinkt uitermate helder en pakt elke noot/toon mee. Samen met de 15 inch speaker heb je ook nog goede bass. Enige minpuntje wat ik met deze speakers heb gehad is dat er een gekke geur af kwam in het begin. Echter ben je opzoek naar een goede prijs/kwaliteit speaker dan zou ik deze zeker kopen!

De Electro Voice ZLX-15P is een ideale oplossing voor kleine zalen, podia en horecaruimtes. Compact gemakkelijk te gebruiken. De luidspreker heeft een 15 inch woofer en een 1000 watt digitale versterker, is voorzien van een display en heeft een ingebouwde limiter. Met de DSP sectie kan je het geluid gemakkelijk afstellen op de zaal of ruimte. Ook kan je gebruik maken van de voorgeprogrammeerde instellingen. Daarnaast kan je ook nog de situatie instellen, bijvoorbeeld: Live optredens, DJ events of tijdens een toespraak. Ook voor horeca goed te combineren als standaard installatie en waneer er een feestje is hoef je niet alles om te wisselen. Verder fijne handvatten, rubber voeten, degelijke connectors, er is over het design erg goed nagedacht.

De Electro-Voice ZLX-15P klinken beter dan verwacht deze prijs. Voldoen uitstekend voor de meeste toepassingen.Vergeleken met een oudere Mackie speaker die ik eerst gebruikte is dit een hele verbetering.
Positieve punten:
- Licht van gewicht. Erg fijn als je je eigen PA mee moet nemen naar optredens.
- De plaatsing van de handvatten maakt deze luidsprekers gemakkelijk mee te nemen en ze op te tillen op een standaard / paal.
- Eenvoudig bediening op de achterkant.
-Twee ingangen met afzonderlijke niveau regelaars aan de achterkant.
Kunnen ze hard genoeg?
We hebben ze gebruikt in ruimtes en buiten voor 50 - 600 mensen en hebben ze nog nooit te hoeven 'pushen'.
Ik kan deze speaker zeker aanraden. Voldoet aan de verwachting; klinken meer dan prima en handzaam.
