General
Your PA speakers (the top cabinets) basically do an excellent job when you need to fill a hall with sound. But a little help can never hurt. With a separate subwoofer, which takes over the heavy work, your top can occupy itself a bit more with its own frequencies, which therefore also produces more sound.
