Teenage Engineering EP-136 K.O. Sidekick line mixer

Really happy with the EP-136 SIDEKICK. It’s a really fun little mixer and fits perfectly into my setup without taking up much space. The controls feel great, everything is straightforward to use, and it’s been really handy for connecting and managing different bits of gear. Ja ik vind het een heel vet ding. En ik kan ook wel vertellen waarom ik persoonlijk voor dit apparaat gekozen heb. Zelf ben ik fan van middeleeuwse sfeer en uiterlijk en muziek. De techniek is nog niet zo makkelijk vind ik, best wel een learning curve, ben er nog niet helemaal uit hoe hij werkt. Maar de ontdekkingsreis tot nu is ook best leuk. En met behulp van youtube en de online handleiding kun je al een end komen.

Zelf gebruik ik de TE medieval meer als leuk ding ok mee te rommelen, en zo op nieuwe ideeën te komen. Maar voor het vastleggen vind ik hem nog te ingewikkeld. En de grootste reden dat ik hem eigenlijk kocht is eigenlijk de veelzijdigheid. Door de leuke demo songs, en de toegankelijke pads waarmee je makkelijk kunt wisselen tussen de instrumenten en effecten, is het ook voor beginners zoals me zoontje een best leuk ding. En maakt dat het makkelijker om kloof tussen absolute beginner en wat meer ervaren muzikant toch interessant te houden, en samen te blijven spelen.

Daarnaast vind ik het bijzonder hoe de voorgemaakte samples heel goed met elkaar klinken in dit apparaat, en de optie om zelf samples op te nemen van minder grote waarden.

Door de optie van 4x aaa batterijen is hij draagbaar, alleen als je er een wat grotere speaker op aansluit klinkt hij wel beter. Maar dit kun je ook oplossen met een goeie koptelefoon of oortjes.
