General

Piling on the candy, the limited edition Fazley Project P2 Flashback S electric guitar features a meaty pickup and hardware loadout plus all of the character of an axe that's already seen decades of action. The S-style body has been carved from hand-selected alder, dipped in high-gloss lacquer and given a ruthless, battle-scared, hand-worn finish, giving this model its relic-style mojo. Meanwhile, the uber-versatile HSS pickup configuration sticks a single-coil pickup at the neck and in the middle positions, while a humbucker takes up the bridge, and so you can gain classic S-style output, the humbucker can even be coil split via the cheeky mini-switch. Wrap it all up in the included deluxe gig bag and get this tour-worn gigging buddy to the venue in comfort.

The Fazley Project P2 Flashback S: Smooth Playability

A high-grade Wilkinson WOV05 two-point tremolo bridge has been mounted to support classic whammy bar tricks, and as a sweet detail, the backplate of the tremolo cavity has even been removed (or just lost to sands of time). The maple neck has been roasted to remove moisture, resulting in more warp-resistant and stable, higher-density wood, and the 12 inch radius is also flatter than your average S-style model. Couple that with the set of twenty-two jumbo frets, and you're treated to light and fast, smooth playability. As a final modern twist, this one-off axe even comes kitted out with a full pack of locking machine heads, which don't just firm up the tuning but speed up string changes.

Every Example is Unique

This Fazley guitar features a special 'relic' finish, which means it looks like it's already seen decades of use. The manually applied signs of 'wear and tear' range from scuff marks on the body to specks of 'corrosion' on the hardware, and make sure that every example looks entirely different from the next. The relic'd finish is also the reason why the cover plate of the tremolo bridge is missing on the back. Fortunately, you can always add one if you want since the mounting holes are still there.

Bought this guitar recently I also have one in the sunburst colour and both are great guitars. One bought at full price and this one bought in the Xmas sale. I would be happy with this guitar at full price as it would still feel like a bargain. These P2 Flashbacks definitely punch way above their price range. Like most people I never used to like relic guitars but now I love them. They feel broken in and look cool, and combined with their amazing roasted maple necks you just can't beat them. They would be a great gigging guitar too as they are very stable and sound great, plus if you put a ding in it, it wont matter like it would do on a pristine looking guitar. Thanks Bax

Hals is prima gied fretwerk. Body dat is smaak. De brug is ok maar de studs kon ik er zonder veel moeite met de hand er uit trekken dat zou niet moeten mogen ook niet voor deze prijs. Vandaar de drie sterren. De humbucker niet zo. Ik houd hem wel want meer een project gitaar die ik naar eigen smaak kan instellen/upgraden.

Een week of 3 geleden heb ik deze gitaar aangeschaft en ik ben er echt super tevreden mee. Aangezien dit pas mijn eerste gitaar is en ik nog nooit eerder gitaar heb gespeeld kan ik niet een heel uitgebreide en onderbouwde mening geven.
Wel kan ik delen dat ik de afwerking voor een gitaar van deze prijs echt super netjes vind, de gitaar heerlijk vasthoud, mijn hand super makkelijk over de hals van de gitaar heen glijd en de gitaar als geheel op mijn schoot tijdens het spelen ook prima in balans is.
Om te testen hoe dat werkt, moet ik ten slotte ook leren, heb ik de snaren een keer gewisseld voor een setje iets dikkere snaren. Die laat ik er meteen op zitten want dat vind ik net iets lekkerder spelen, zal persoonlijk zijn.
Hiermee sluit ik deze review snel af want ik heb de gitaar nu al veel te lang niet in mijn handen.
