General

The Slick Guitars SL50 feels like a familiar classic, but with a hefty dose of extra character. The design comes from Earl Slick's New York studio and exudes the raw energy of an instrument made for playing. The body of solid swamp ash, neck of Canadian hard maple and fingerboard of rosewood combine to form a solid foundation with rich resonance. Everything about this guitar exudes craftsmanship, from the graphite nut to the carefully polished frets. As soon as you pick up the SL50, you immediately notice that this is not your average guitar, but an instrument that invites you to play.

SL50: brass hardware

What immediately stands out about the SL50 is the way tone and playability go hand in hand. The bridge is completely milled from brass and allows each string to sound free and powerful. Combined with the specially designed tuning machines and the tilt-back headstock, you'll keep playing effortlessly clean, even with intensive use. The very thin lacquer finish lets the wood breathe and gives you that raw, lived-in feel that normally comes only after years of touring. It's a guitar that responds to every touch, every nuance, and rewards you immediately with a lively sound.

Special pickups

The true soul of the SL50 is in the pickups. With a set of hand-aged Tele-style pickups, the sound comes alive: sparkling and bright in the neck position, bright and assertive at the bridge. The combination of alnico V magnets and carefully wound formvar wire gives you that recognisable vintage sound, but with an extra bite. Because the elements are aged not only cosmetically but also magnetically, they sound like they have been making music for decades.
