General

The Devine RX-8A is a bigger, beefier studio monitor designed for the heavier audio-based work demanded by EDM or orchestral productions. While a monitor of this size would usually set you back a fair bit, the RX-8A comes at a generous, beginner-friendly price, setting up fledgling producers with a considerable, 45Hz to 20kHz frequency range, consistent performance and that all important neutral sound.

The Devine RX-8A

The Devine RX-8A comes fitted with the flexibility of TRS/TS jack, RCA, and XLR ports, and while the mounted 8-inch woofer offers enough depth for larger home-studio spaces, if you're sitting in an even bigger space and need even more depth, then it can be coupled up with the matching RX-10SA subwoofer. If you're thinking about picking up a larger monitor like the 8A, then make sure that you have the space for it. The soundwaves of lower frequencies literally need larger spaces to travel in, so the bigger the woofer, the bigger the space needs to be. It's also definitely worth investing in a good set of monitor stands and a little isolation. Ben zeer onder de indruk van deze monitor speakers. Geluid word zeer zuiver weergegeven. Zeer helder en sterk geluid in de hoge, midden en lage tonen. Verder zijn de boxen zeer degelijk en ook zwaar uitgevoerd. Voor deze prijs had ik dit zeker niet verwacht. Ik ben er zeer blij mee, en de buren ook nu het geluid wat minder doorkomt naar hun!

Verder zijn de boxen zeer degelijk en ook zwaar uitgevoerd. Voor deze prijs had ik dit zeker niet verwacht. Ik ben er zeer blij mee, ik denk de buren wat minder.

Voor mijn studio-upgrade koos ik voor de Devine RX8A monitors met een 8-inch woofer, ideaal voor mijn muziekstijl (Hardtechno). Na wat research ontdekte ik dat 8 inch juist die diepere lage tonen levert die ik nodig heb, zeker meer dan de kleinere formaten. Bovendien was de prijsstap van 5 naar 8 inch bescheiden van de RX series, dus leek het slim om te investeren in groter formaat voor betere prestaties.

Na een tijdje wachten arriveerden de monitors. Ze kwamen op een halve pallet (zelfs te groot voor een klein bestelbusje!), wat mij opviel door het indrukwekkende formaat. Eenmaal uitgepakt werkte alles vlekkeloos, en een eerste test in de woonkamer liet zien hoe krachtig ze zijn! In mijn studio moest ik wat schuiven om ze goed te laten passen naast mijn 32-inch scherm op mijn bureau van 160 cm breed. Ik heb hierdoor dus wel wat minder ruimte op het bureau zelf😂

Pluspunten:

- Indrukwekkende bas: De diepe en krachtige lage tonen zijn perfect voor hardere muziekstijlen. Let wel op: buren zullen je niet snel uitnodigen voor de barbecue!
- Zuivere bas, zelfs op laag volume: Ook als je het volume zachter zet, blijft de bas doordreunen door het huis, wat de geluidskwaliteit alleen maar benadrukt.
- Frequentiebereik: Het bereik is goed, met hoge tonen die helder en rijk klinken, zonder schel te worden
- Goede prijs-kwaliteitverhouding: De sprong in woofergrootte en kracht maakt de prijsstap naar 8 inch zeker waard.
- Goede aansluitmogelijkheden: Alles wat nodig is voor een eenvoudige studio-opstelling is aanwezig.

Minpunten:

- Beperkte afstelopties: Enkel Gain en High Control, wat wat meer precisie in afstelling mist voor studio-gebruik.
- Ruimte-innemend: Door hun grote formaat heb je echt een breed bureau nodig om alles goed te plaatsen.

Al met al ben ik ontzettend tevreden met de Devine RX8A monitors. Ze zijn krachtig, vergelijkbaar met KRK 8-monitors, en houden op laag volume nog steeds een rijke bas.

Indrukwekkend. Hoe kunnen luidsprekers in deze prijsklasse zo mooi spelen?
Wij hebben een set RX-8A's i.c.m. de RX-10SA subwoofer in onze home-studio.
En wij zijn erg tevreden over! Ze spelen eigenlijk elk muziekgenre met verve.
Even ontspannen met Norah Jones? Kippevel.
Even knallen met een stukje hardcore? Gaat ook lekker!
En alles wat daar tussen zit geven ze ook schitterend weer.
