General

Nudging the Revstar II Series a few inches further, the Yamaha Revstar Standard RSS20 electric double-cut has a slightly wider body featuring the ultra-lightweight comfort of Yamaha's special Acoustic Design construction. The mahogany body has been carefully chambered all the right places to inject more life into the foundation sound and improve the overall balance. The set-in three-piece mahogany neck has been reinforced with two carbon rods to push the stability through the proverbial roof, and just in case, this modern classic comes wrapped up in a deluxe gig bag.

The Yamaha Revstar Standard RSS20: Stainless-Steel Frets & Familiar Playability

While the body has been coated in high-gloss, the neck has been given a satin-gloss finish for an immediately fast feel while the twenty-two jumbo frets lighten up the playability and have been forged from stainless steel, so you're assured of a highly resistant setup that might never need refretting. The 12 inch fretboard radius and 41.9mm wide nut give this contemporary yet timeless model a familiar grip in the fret-hand while the Tune-O-Matic bridge and Stopbar tailpiece offer a solid resting place for the playing-hand.

Three-Way Humbucker Tone, Two Out-Phase Options and a Push/Pull Focus Switch

Packing out the resonant acoustic sound of the chambered construction and the natural warmth of the mahogany body with amplified force, Yamaha have loaded the Revstar Standard with a pair of fat Alnico humbuckers coupled with the broad sonic range of a five-way switch. Positions 1, 3 and 5 shift the pickups into standard configurations while positions 2 and 4 blend the output of both pickups out of phase. It doesn't stop there, since the tone pot doubles as a push/pull focus switch, which can be popped to give the bass and mids a light yet brutal boost, and the trebles a tasty, darkened vibe.

Na vele LP modellen gehad te hebben wilde ik iets anders. De revstar heeft zijn eigen vibe. De nek voelt soepel en snel aan. De gitaar is mooi afgewerkt.5 way switch maakt de gitaar een allrounder. Met de push pull knop heeft het wel weg van een les paul. Al met al een fijn spelende gitaar met mooie tones.
