General

The tenor saxophone is the second most popular type of sax, after the alto. Tenors are tuned in the key of Bb (just like the soprano sax, but an octave lower) and their music is written in treble clef. You'll find that the tenor features the classic S-shaped swan neck, and where size is concerned it's larger than an alto and smaller than a baritone. It's tonal range is also between that of an alto and a baritone. The tenor sax is found in a variety of music genres, from classical chamber music to fanfare and from big band to jazz.
