Place it in front of your transistor preamp or DI Box and this pedal will give your bass a tight, deep, organic sound that ranges form a light raw edge to a heavy shred. The Philosopher Bass Compressor makes use of a unique concept that increases the effect as you continue to strike the strings. This results in an extremely dynamic and expressive effect. A Grit switch makes this pedal even more versatile, as it allows you to adjust the gain structure as well.
