General

If you perform regularly with your electric bass guitar, you'll know that a decent bass amplifier is far from easy to carry. That's not the case with Trace Elliot's ELF however. This ultra compact bass guitar amplifier head is unbelievably compact and lightweight, yet still capable of delivering a big performance.

ELF: light in weight, not in performance

It's easy to take the ELF with you wherever you go and Trace Elliot have even included a matching bag especially for that purpose. Despite its compact size, it's capable of producing 200 watts of power at 4 ohms and 130 watts at 8 ohms. That means it's not only suitable for band rehearsals, but performances too. There's even a 3-band EQ in addition to the gain and volume controls so that you can tweak your sound to perfection.

Connections

Naturally, you'll need to connect the ELF to a speaker cabinet or other external sound source to be heard and Trace Elliot's 1x10 or 2x8 cabinets are an ideal choice because they're compact and lightweight too. When you want to practise in silence, the ELF has a headphone socket and it's also equipped with an XLR DI output so that you can easily connect it to a mixing console or recording device.

Après moulte visionnage de vidéo entre 3 modèles (dont celui-ci) puisque de stock ou en démo dans aucunes boutiques autours de chez moi ou dans celle où je me rend à Dunkerque, je prend le risque de commander l'ELF principalement pour la maison puisque mon attente première était de pouvoir jouer au casque.

Même si dans un avenir proche, je compte peut être m'équiper d'un HP sans doute Trace Eliot, dans mon 10" kustom, eq tout à midi, j'ai le son que j'aime avec un grand A.

Deux b, le premier est l'absence malgré tout d'une entrée aux pour les bt et l'autre, le ventilo qui pourrais s'envoler si il continue de faire un bruit pareil, j'ai l'impression qu'il y a un drone à proximité.

Du reste, j'espère être partis avec ce mini ampli durant quelques années.

En effet, le son est vraiment magnifique, puissant et propre, mais le ventilateur est bien trop bruyant, on a l'impression de jouer avec un sèche cheveux et c'est insupportable pour moi, j'ai du ouvrir la bête et remplacer le ventilo par un autre de meilleure qualité : le Noctua NF-A4x10 FLX (40x10 mm) premium fan . il est un peu plus grand ( 1 cm de plus) mais il rentre parfaitement et maintenant c'est le silence et il n'y a aucune surchauffe . L'opération est à la portée de n'importe qui, il suffit d'être méticuleux . Je l'aurais sans doute renvoyé à regrets sans cette transformation effectuée car à part ce bruit insupportable de ventilateur permanent, le rendu typique trace elliot me plaisait trop...

Werkt best met de daarna uitgebrachte modellen basbox.Hooftelefoonuitgang klinkt minder goed dan speaker.

Ruisarm , wordt wel serieus warm. Aparte regeling hi-lo mid of traploze mid frequency keuze erbij had het compleet gemaakt.Was wellicht geen ruimte voor.Netsnoer met een beetje lengte neemt ongeveer evenveel plaats in.Past wel in de bijbehorende tas.Aanrader voor thuisoefenen,of in combinatie met TransitB preamp.

Wat een geweldig versterkertje is dit! Onovertroffen kwa veelzijdigheid, vervoerbaarheid en geluid in deze prijsklasse. Meerdere malen gebruikt in de oefenruimte en optredens en hij voldoet ruimschoots aab de hoogste verwachtingen in alle mogelijke situaties. Als je veel speelt en geen auto hebt, zoals ik, dan kun je met je bas en deze amp in je gigbag letterlijk de hele wereld aan. Een echte topper!
