DiMarzio's Model J set is a set of bass guitar pickups intended for a Fender Jazz Bass. They have the familiar, traditional sound of a J bass guitar, but more powerful and noiseless. The powerful pickups enhance the resonant character of this type of bass guitar. So a classic sound with the advantages of modern pickups.

Fretless

The deep tone combined with the sensitivity of the DiMarzio Model Js makes them stand out in a fretless Jazz Bass. Double-tone glissandos and violin-like vibratos sound clear and thick, and all the nuances in your playing come out. Playing on the bridge element and turning the tone knob back slightly creates a classic, 'woody' sound once made famous by legendary jazz bassist Jaco Pastorius.

Tips or comments about this product

Because the DiMarzio Model Js are intended for in a Fender Jazz Bass, they are not the same size. The bridge pickup is slightly shorter than the neck pickup and therefore do not fit in all J-style bass guitars of other brands.

Ik heb deze pickups in mijn Squier Vintage Modified Fretless Jazz Bass gezet. Wat een verschil! Met de actie superlaag, de hals lekker vlak en de toonregeling helemaal open, heb je een heerlijke 'Jaco'-sound. Een diepe warme knor die zich lekker laat bespelen.
De afwerking is goed, de handleiding duidelijk en de lol die je ervan hebt is de investering meer dan waard.
Als je er overigens ook betere pots (CTS) bij doet is het effect helemaal fantastisch!
