Following up the honorary MP40 Limited Edition pedal, released to celebrate the 40 year anniversary of Rush's classic album Moving Pictures, Tech 21 treats us to the Geddy Lee YYZ Shape-shifter Signature SansAmp. Besides the exclusive Hugh Syme artwork and a few welcome tweaks, the features and options this pedal has on offer haven't changed a bit. So, if you're seeking an upgrade on the legendary Canadian bassist's YYZ pedal, or you're a first-timer, this edition of the Shape-Shift won't disappoint.
The Tech 21 YYZ Shape-Shifter: Stick Your Bass in the Spotlight
This is the freshest edition of the YYZ, so it comes with a few more sound-shaping options including a boost footswitch that applies 12 decibels of extra output and, if you want an extra 6dB on top of that, just hit the Shape-Shifter switch. Need a little more emphasis on the trebles? Simply hit the Tight switch. Meanwhile, the three-band EQ and Master controls pretty much speak for themselves, and to strike the optimum balance, a Mix and Drive pot have also been provided. Dial in the specifics, customise your foundation and start building your ultimate bass sound.
