A boost pedal is probably one of the most straightforward effects on your pedal board. At the same time, there are so many variations on the market, none of them really stand out. None, that is, except the Orange Two Stroke. This pedal is equipped with a comprehensive equalizer section which allows you to not only boost your signal, but also change the character of your pickups! It also prevents feedback if you're playing acoustic or bass guitar. You can set this effect up any way you like it, and the possibilities seem endless.

Play around

The best way to see what the Two Strokes can do for you is by experimentation. If you set the Hi and Lo knobs to 12 o'clock, the frequency knobs will de-activate and only the Oil knob will function. That provides you with a clean boost that will increase your signal's volume level by about 18 dB! The boost starts at the zero position, which means nothing is lost, and it gives you more control over your sound. No matter what, nothing will be lost thanks to internal circuitry that automatically doubles to handle a capacity of 18 volts. This allows you more headroom and unwanted noises are kept to a minimum.

Complete tone spectrum

As mentioned before, the Two Stroke is equipped with a very cool 2-band EQ for high and low frequencies. Use the knobs on top to give them a kick in the rear, or decrease their potency. It can also make your single-coils sound like humbuckers. The knobs below let you determine where you want the sound in the spectrum to come from. Plenty of options! For optimal signal transfer, this Orange pedal is equipped with a buffered bypass, which means your sound exits at the same exact volume as it came in. This is especially handy if you work with long cables or lots of pedals.
