IMHO a very good sounding unit with a decent range of analog synth sounds for the price - which is what sold it to me.
Connectivity for sounds in/out is by stereo miniature jacks so may need to use adapters depending on your needs.
I am using a full size 49 key midi controller keyboard, via the midi-in connector, to play it as a 4 note polyphonic synth which works fine for me and saves wear and tear on the units keypad.
Arpeggiator, choruses and delay are all useful.
Volume control on back is small.
I have not looked into the sequencer yet.

Als 70-plusser heb ik in de voorbije decennia al wat instrumenten verzameld. Zo nu en dan geraak ik getriggerd om toch nog een synth aan mijn collectie toe te voegen. Mijn interesse gaat vaak uit naar vintage klanken en dan kwam JU-06A al een tijdje door mijn hoofd spoken. Ik had echter al een Deepmind 12, die is gebaseerd op een Juno en kan natuurlijk ook wel die klanken genereren. Waarom dan toch nog een JU-06A er bij halen?
Wel om de heldere layout die meehelpt om zeer snel leuke resultaten te bekomen. No-nonsence, rechttoe-rechtaan editing zonder jezelf in talloze menus en submenus te moeten verliezen. Heerlijk is dat en aan verademing. Dat hij slechts 4 stemmig is heeft me nog niet gestoord omdat ik meestal klanken van verschillende synthesizers layer.
De simpele layout van deze JU-06A heeft me meegeholpen om mijn andere synths beter te begrijpen en gebruiken.
Kortom... ik ben er heel blij mee !

De TB-03 gekocht ter vervanging van een Behringer TD-3. Die doet natuurlijk wel wat hij moet doen, maar het blijft een goedkoop plastic ding. De metalen behuizing van de Roland voelt beter. Hij programmeert wat makkelijker in Step-mode, de toevoeging van het display is een plus. De effecten zijn mwah, maar wel beter dan de distortion van de Behringer. Het is een Boutique ding, dus de controls zijn klein, maar toch te bedienen met mijn kolenschoppen. Ook makkelijk dat je de hoogte / hoek kunt verstellen.
Wat ik vind tegenvallen is a) het ontbreken van een volume control op de frontplate (die zit op de achterkant), b) enkel USB power, en c) enkel mini-jack out.
Maar ik ben er blij mee, ik vind de Roland het prijsverschil meer dan waard. Ik heb een veel grotere grijns op de bek dan bij de Beheringer.

Zo lang gezocht naar de analoge versie maar de prijs is me gewoon te duur. Eindelijk heeft Roland voor de liefhebbers deze schitterende 808 drumcomputer opnieuw uitgebracht maar in een kleinere vorm. Ik vind dit echt zo goed gedaan en blij dat ik deze in mijn studio heb toegevoegd heel erg blij mee!
