General
Usually microphones are pretty universal. A guitar cabinet, for instance, can be recorded with many different types of microphones - like dynamic or condenser mics. The best result is achieved with a more purpose-built microphone, however. The Sennheiser E609 dynamic microphone is specifically designed to mic up guitar cabinets and is calibrated to faithfully represent the sound of your cab. This microphone can be positioned really close to the speaker without the signal losing any of its quality.
