Sennheiser's E604 is a popular and versatile dynamic microphone. It is often used as a drum mic for toms and snares. Thanks to the practical clip-on holder you can attach the mic to the rim in seconds for optimal positioning. The Sennheiser E604 is not just great for drums, but also for recording brass and woodwind instruments. Thanks to its maximum sound pressure level of no less than 160 dB, the E604 can record it all without any distortion.
The Sound of the Sennheiser E604
The sound of the Sennheiser E604 is based on the legendary MD 421 microphone. The E604 has a frequency range of 40 to 18,000 Hz with a small peak in the mid-high and high frequencies. As such, it offers a powerful, open and clear sound. Because the E604 can be placed near the drum head and has a cardioid recording pattern, feedback is not an issue. Vibrations are eliminated, thanks to the integrated shock mount.
