The Sennheiser e904 is a cardioid dynamic instrument microphone that has been specifically designed for drumming. With the included clip, you can simply clamp this small microphone to the rim of your snare drum or tom, putting it very close to the drumhead for optimum sound capture and limited crossover.
The Sennheiser e904
The Sennheiser e904 has a quite linear frequency response with a slight peak in the high tones, whic gives the E 904 a nice-and-transparent sound framed by the harmonic high frequencie of your snare or tom. The microphone has a durable metal housing and supports heavy-hitting drummers.

Ik heb deze microfoon gekocht om hem voor mijn zang te gebruiken. Ik zet bevestig hem op mijn accordeon en stuur de audio via een zender naar de mengtafel. Heb hem getest naast mijn “gewone” zangmicrofoon (SE V7) en ik was zeer verrast door de hoge kwaliteit van de Sennheiser E904! Hij geeft iets meer output, iets meer hoog maar ook iets minder vol en warm. Maar niks wat niet met een beetje EQ rechtgezet kan worden.

Voor als je snel moet wisselen tussen verschillende drummers zijn dit echt hele fijne microfoons.
Qua geluid lijken ze heel sterk op de ietwat goedkopere e604 - de 904 pakt net dat kleine beetje meer laag op.
Het grootste verschil tussen deze twee microfoons is dat de e604 een plastic behuizing heeft en de e904 van metaal is.
Daar waar ik een paar (goed geleefde) e604's nog wel eens uit elkaar heb zien vallen lijken de e904's gewoon net iets degelijker gebouwd.
Klein nadeel is wel dat de e904 iets zwaarder is dan de e604 - bij verkeerd bevestigen of een verkeerde slag van de drummer raakt de e904 iets sneller ontstelt.

Erg goede mic voor tom of snare, je hebt een eerlijke en natuurlijke sound tot je beschikking met de 904, lekker robuust gebouwd. Ik heb hem getest op snare en floortom en je hoort als je je instrument niet goed gestemd heb wel erg duidelijk je eigen fout, dus.... Hij kleurt niet en geeft een natuurgetrouw beeld van je instrument, dus erg goed!!!
