The Sennheiser E 904 is a cardioid dynamic instrument microphone that has been specifically designed for drumming. With the included clip you can clamp this small microphone to the rim of your snare drum or tom. In this way, you can place the microphone very close to the drumhead. This provides an optimal registration and limited crossover.
Tech talk on the E 904
The Sennheiser E 904 has a quite linear frequency response with a slight peak in the high tones. This provides the E 904 with a rather transparent sound. The harmonic high tones of your snare or tom will be registered beautifully. The microphone has a robust, metal casing and can therefore take on the hardest hits of your drum stick.
