Eventide Crystals is a special delay: it consists of two granular delays and a reverb. You can play pranks like pitch-shifting in your delays, reverse-delays. The granularity here means that a piece of the input signal is recorded and then played back in various ways. For reverse-delays, you just need to play the memory in reverse. For pitch-shifting, you only need to play the memory faster or slower. For some applications, this is a very good effect! Take a nice DX piano, with reversed-delays and a pitch-shift of an octave up, and you get a wash of nice sparkles. Also handy: the ribbon controller lets you morph between two sets of parameters. This effect is one for the progressive sound designer, as well as producers in the ambient and new age genres.
