Eventide Precision Time Align (DOWNLOAD)

Anyone who has ever recorded a voice or instrument with two microphones knows the ropes. Those two microphones are obviously not in exactly the same place, so there is a time difference - i.e. a phase difference - between them. That difference can just cause a voice to not fall nicely into the mix. Hollow, is also a term you could use. So what you want is a way to straighten out those phases, and that really needs to be at the very smallest level. Eventide Precision Time Align is such a solution, with which you move the phases up and synchronise them, even with an accuracy of 1/64 of a samnple. In practice, that sub-sample scale means that you only shift up part of a sample to its neighbour. Technical details aside, this is a life-saver if you work with multiple mics, because you have those phase problems, no doubt!
