With a medium/heavy thickness (45-130), this set offers a powerful, full sound with a sparkling high and a tight, well-defined midrange. Ideal for bassists who like to play solidly and need a wide dynamic range from heavy rock riffs to funky slap grooves. The strings have a hexagonal core with stainless steel windings around it, on the thickest string (B) those windings are thinner where it crosses the bridge (taperwound). This ensures clean intonation, higher resonance and better balance. This Silver Label Taperwound XL set is specifically designed for top-loader bridges and is not suitable for string-through-body mounting.

These strings are not suitable for basses where the strings run through the body (string through body).
