General
The Schecter J-5 Rosewood combines the familiar characteristics of a J-model bass guitar with modern specifications. The body is made from alder and is paired with a bolt-on maple neck and a rosewood fingerboard. With a scale length of 35 inches (889 mm), this 5-string bass offers extra reach for the low B string. The Thin C neck profile, the 45 mm wide nut and the 21 Narrow X-Jumbo frets ensure a comfortable playing experience. The fingerboard has a radius of 16 inches (406 mm), whilst the Gloss Black finish and black hardware give it a classic look.
Schecter USA MonsterTone-J pickups
In terms of tone, the J-5 Rosewood features two Schecter USA MonsterTone-J single-coil pickups, positioned at the bridge and neck. These passive pickups deliver a powerful sound with relatively high output, whilst retaining the character of passive bass pickups. The controls consist of Volume, Volume and Tone, with the tone control featuring a push-pull coil tap. This allows you to further expand the tonal possibilities of the pickups. The combination of the two J-style pickups and the coil tap makes the bass suitable for a wide range of playing styles and offers both solid and more distinctive tones.
String-thru or top-load
The Schecter Custom Bass String-Thru bridge offers the option of routing the strings through the body or mounting them as a top-load. This allows you to adjust the string configuration to suit your preference. The bass comes fitted with D’Addario Bass Nickel Wound Long Scale NYXL45130 strings in .045–.130 gauge. The Schecter tuners are used to adjust the tuning. The J-5 Rosewood is a right-handed model and features a solid-body construction. The matching SCSGR-UNIV6 case is available separately and is therefore not included with the bass guitar.
