General

The BB734A is an electric bass guitar from Yamaha's Broadbass 700 series that's known for offering durable and versatile instruments with great sound quality at an attractive price. It has a 5-piece maple and mahogany neck that's bolted on to the body using six screws for optimal stability and sustain. The 3-piece body has a maple core sandwiched in between two pieces of alder resulting in a big acoustic sound with prominent high and mid tones, making it a bass guitar that's suitable for a wide range of musical styles.

BB734A: passive or active?

Thanks to the versatile active/passive PJ pickup configuration and the YGD Custom V7 pickups (a single-coil at the bridge and a split single-coil in the mid-position), the BB734A offers a rich sound palette. You can choose to send either a passive or an active signal to your amplifier by using the 2-way switch. In active mode, you can accurately adjust the balance between both Alnico V single-coils and tweak the bass, mid and treble frequencies using the 3-band active EQ.

Black chrome and comfort

The black chrome hardware doesn't just look stylish, it adds to this bass's excellent tuning stability and sound. That includes the open gear machine heads and the Vintage Plus bridge with adjustable saddles that are more lightweight than before. This ensures that the instrument remains well-balanced because the neck has been slimmed down for improved comfort and playability. Finally, the strings can either pass through the body at an angle of 45° towards the string nut, or they can be set to the tail end of the bridge and adjusted to two different angles using the convertible saddle for additional tone shaping. All in all, the BB734A is a top-quality electric bass guitar that's ready for anything.
