General
Thanks to its bang-for-your-buck-focussed build, the EC-256 has been ESP LTD's most popular electric guitar for years. This 200 Series model has a mahogany body and a 3-piece mahogany neck for a rich-and-warm foundation sound that gets picked up by two ESP Designed humbuckers as soon as it's plugged into an amp. Geared up for styles like rock, blues and metal, this edition of the ESP LTD Eclipse even comes equipped with push/pull tone control that gives you access to a range of single-coil-style sounds.
The EC-256: High Level of Playing Comfort
The ESP LTD EC-256 has a slim Thin U neck profile and a roasted jatoba fretboard lined with twenty-two extra-jumbo frets, resulting in solid grip on the strings and a comfortable feel when navigating the frets and bending. On top of that, the neck has been glued to the body to boost the sustain and give you easier access to the highest frets.

Attention en achetant cette guitare, la couleur est beaucoup plus sombre que ce que laissent paraître les photos.
En réalité, la guitare est plutôt rouge bordeaux assez sombre.
J'ai eu 3 LTD ESP EC-256 et j'ai constaté par ailleurs que la qualité varie d'une guitare à l'autre. Sur mes 2 cobalt blue (l'une fabriquée en Chine, l'autre en Indonésie) aucun souci. Sur la Candy Red (que j'ai renvoyée), quelques soucis sur les finitions: une rayure observée sur la table dès la sortie du carton (pas top!), des bavures de plastique au niveau du manche (autour des frettes), les câbles des micros mal positionnés, qui les rendent visibles de l'extérieur et nuisent à l'esthétique... et une action assez haute des cordes à l'origine.
